Welson Chu joined the firm in August of 2006 as Philippine counsel on the Air Philippines Flight 541 case. Upon admission to the New York and Illinois State Bars, he continued to handle other aviation and pharmaceutical product liability and wrongful death matters for the firm. Prior to that, Welson had been working in litigation, tax and corporate practice as a senior associate at a top Philippine law firm.
In 2006, Welson received his LLM-K Degree from Northwestern University. He was a member of the Northwestern Journal of International Law and Business, and after graduation, continued to be affiliated with his alma mater, serving as admissions alumni interviewer, volunteer judge for the Julius H. Miner Moot Court Competition and member of his batch’s reunion committee.
Welson speaks fluent Manadrin, Fookien and Filipino, in addition to English.
